SVCP -- Students, Technology and Everyday Life The interviewers asked the students to describe the technological devices to which they had access, and the lists were generally extensive. Students households were typically equipped with multiple televisions and video cassette recorders, CD and DVD players, home computers, PDAs, pagers and cell phones. Ownership of these devices was sometimes unclear, but access to technology was ubiquitous. What was not accessible at home was usually accessible at a friend's house or a public library. The result is a sort of technological "saturation" in which the technology has become so commonplace as to be invisible, and the incorporation of these devices into daily life is simply accepted.
